Personalized Treatment Plan
Physical therapy is tailored to your needs, enhancing your recovery and complementing your medical treatment.
Research shows that combining physical therapy with rheumatological care can significantly improve outcomes.
Patients with arthritis and other musculoskeletal disorders. Here are some key findings from studies:
1. Improved Joint Function: Studies suggest that physical therapy exercises enhance the benefits of medications and can help patients maintain or improve their range of motion.
2. Pain Reduction: Physical therapy techniques, such as manual therapy, strengthening exercises, stretching and pain management modalities like Biowave, TENS, Cupping, Taping, and more have been shown to reduce pain and discomfort associated with conditions like arthritis. This can reduce the need for pain medications, which are often used in conjunction with rheumatologic treatments.
3. Better Long-Term Outcomes: Research indicates that patients who follow a combined treatment plan experience less disability and better quality of life compared to those who rely on medications alone.
4. Prevention of Joint Damage: Physical therapy helps prevent further joint damage by strengthening muscles around affected joints and improving stability. This supports the medical treatments prescribed by a rheumatologist, helping to slow down the progression of conditions like osteoarthritis.
5. Improved Adherence to Treatment: Studies have found that patients who engage in physical therapy are more likely to adhere to their rheumatological treatment plan, as physical therapy provides active solutions and encourages self-management of their condition.
In summary, research shows that physical therapy is an essential complement to rheumatology care, improving pain management, mobility, and long-term outcomes, while reducing dependency on medication.

What Our Patient Are Saying
After a minor injury to my right aductors and ITBand, I stopped in at the 50+ wellness center for information. This was a very fortunate decision since Dr. Raj was in and had some time to evaluate my pain. I started six weeks of PT exercises which were and continue to be extremely helpful. My pain level has dropped from 7 and sometimes 9 to 0 and occasionally 2. My limp has nearly disappeared, my stride is lengthening, my balance has improved and my fear of falling is greatly reduced.I have and will recommend Dr. Raj to anyone in need of PT.Thank you, Dr. RAj.
I highly recommend HWY Physical Therapy at Center 50+ for seniors and people having issues will balancing, lower back pain, hip pain, etc. Raj educates you on what stretches, tools, and exercises would probably help you. He has been helping me and I learned the best correct actions to do. He showed me I was not really standing straight nor walking correctly. He sowed me the tools that would help me and the stretch and exercise routine that, over time, would reduce my pain. Sign up for an appointment and meet with Raj. You will notice the difference compared to other therapist.
I’m so grateful to Dr. Raj for all his help with my physical therapy after a total knee replacement. He was incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging, but never let me slack off. He made sure I achieved my goals for recovery. There were several days when I showed up convinced I couldn’t do anything that day, and thanks to his determination to help me, in a short time I was back on track and left feeling so much better. If you’re looking for a good outcome for your recovery, Dr. Raj will get you there.
I would highly recommend Dr. Raj for physical therapy because he is very knowledgeable when it comes to working on the human body. He works very well with all ages, but especially seniors. He takes the time to explain how he plans to help you and also tells you ways to help yourself. Obviously, Dr. Raj enjoys his work and is definitely a credit to his profession.
Rajendra was very kind, considerate and helpful with my grandmother’s needs. He was patient through all of her stories and being slow to move. He helped her set good, attainable goals. And gave her practical and helpful knowledge that we continue to use. We saw a big increase in her skills, anbilities, and movement during this process. Thank you Raj!
Excellent service. Raj listens to everything I needed to share. Instead of telling me I was doing an exercise incorrectly, he would suggest ways to do it better. I improved so much with my balance under his care. He also suggested ways I could continue at home for when I become stronger.I would definitely see him again if I had the need. I highly recommend his expertise.

Why Arthritis Management Matters for 50+ Adults
Key benefits of dedicated arthritis management include:
• Improved joint flexibility and range of motion
• Reduced inflammation and pain
• Enhanced balance and stability
• Restored confidence in performing everyday tasks
Our skilled team at HWY PT Clinic specializes in helping you achieve and maintain these benefits through a structured program tailored to your individual needs.
How long does it take to see improvement?
While each person is different, many patients notice a decrease in pain and improved mobility within a few weeks. Consistency is key: attending sessions regularly and following your at-home exercise plan often leads to quicker, longer-lasting results.
Do I need a referral from my doctor to start physical therapy?
No, for most insurance. However, depending on your insurance, you may need prior authorization. We’ll help you verify your coverage and determine any referral requirements.
Will physical therapy completely cure my arthritis?
While arthritis is a chronic condition that can’t be “cured,” physical therapy helps manage symptoms effectively—often reducing pain, increasing mobility, and slowing progression. With consistent treatment and lifestyle adjustments, many people experience marked improvements in their daily comfort.
I go to a Rheumatologist, is that not enough?
• While visiting a rheumatologist is an important step for managing conditions like arthritis, physical therapy can enhance outcomes by improving mobility, reducing pain, and preventing further joint damage.
